For the construction of the Storm Wind Farm in Berlare, GC Industries was entrusted with a critical task: executing stud welding in an extraordinary foundation pit with a 26-meter diameter, largely surrounded by water. With project delays and the wind turbine installation deadline approaching, speed and precision were essential.
GC Industries welded more than 5,500 studs onto foundation piles and sheet piles, and installed additional pipes for ground anchors. The works faced major challenges: constant groundwater inflow, a failed anchor drilling that flooded the pit, and strict safety requirements. Through meticulous preparation, the use of custom templates, and the expertise of its team, GC Industries ensured that all welding and installations were carried out smoothly and accurately despite harsh conditions.
After four intensive weeks, GC Industries delivered a fully completed and certified foundation, enabling the timely installation of the wind turbine. This project highlights the company’s strength as a reliable partner for complex welding and foundation works under demanding circumstances.
