The shaft generator of a ship is a generator that rotates on the propeller shaft of the ship and thus generates electricity, comparable to a dynamo like you used to have on your bicycle for your lights.
You don’t just remove such an shaft generator, you have to go through quite some phases and steps for that.
First, both the engine exhaust and the pipes of the cooling system must be disconnected, blinded and removed. Only then will there be enough space to build a scaffolding and can we remove the insulation and separate the generator.
To get this out of the ship, however, a large hole (3 m x 4 m) must be made in the bottom of the cargo above!
Once the generator is out of the ship, we do everything again but in reverse order.
